CADMY is offering several Postdoctoral Associate positions designed for recent graduates of Ph.D. programs working at the intersection of AI, Game Theory, Economics, and Computer Science.

We are seeking candidates with a Ph.D. in a quantitative field with a strong interest in building AI agents. Particularly, we are looking for an individual with a strong interest and the skills needed to build AI agents based on reinforcement learning with open-source LLMs or VLMs. Required skills include extensive experience with LLM post-training, including Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT), Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA), or reinforcement learning (RL) post-training. Experience with multi-GPU training and a strong working knowledge of reinforcement learning are also required. Familiarity with standard software development tools such as GitHub Workflow, servers, and AI coding tools is essential, as is a strong background in either PyTorch or JAX.

Applicants must have completed their Ph.D. prior to the beginning of their appointment as a Postdoctoral Associate and are expected to have a strong research and publication record. Postdoctoral Associates are expected to be present on the Yale campus three full days per week, contribute to research and publications, and participate in seminars and conferences at Yale.

Postdoctoral Associates are strongly urged to reside in the New Haven area. The resident Postdoctoral Associate will start their appointment in the Fall of 2025 for a duration of one year; Postdoctoral Associates may apply for a second year of support. CADMY Postdoctoral Associates receive a salary of 90,000 USD per year plus Yale benefits, a travel/research stipend of 15,000 USD, and office space.

CADMY also offers self-funded Visiting Fellowships for individuals with their own sources of funding - for example, winners of Fulbright or other fellowship awards. The application requirements are identical to that of the Postdoctoral Associate. Please indicate the sources of funding in your application.

Additionally, CADMY offers partially funded sabbatical appointments for junior and senior researchers in the above areas of interest. The application requirements are identical to that of the Postdoctoral Associate. Please indicate the sources of funding and request for additional funding, if applicable, in your application.

All applications should include the following:

  • ● A cover letter
  • ● A curriculum vitae
  • ● A two-page research statement about past research
  • ● Three representative papers
  • In the cover letter and CV, please include links to two representative coding projects on GitHub.

Please electronically submit application materials directly to https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/30368. A review of all applications will begin on a September 1, 2025, with an anticipated start date of October 1, 2025 or later based on mutual agreement. Appointment decisions will be made on a rolling basis.
